Procurement

The UASD presented a three-hour training event in April, prior to the effective date of SB 190 from the 2013 legislative session, and SB 153 from the 2012 legislative session.  Both bills effected many changes in the State Procurement Laws, with which districts must comply.  

Procurement Training Webinar and Presentation Handouts.  By clicking on this link, Districts may access all presentation handouts and copies that were presented during the April 29th and 30th 2013 training event.  In addition, Districts may access the webinar for both days.  The same material was presented each day.  The second day, April 30th, included some additional powerpoint presentation material.

Fred Finlinson prepared a number of very useful documents that will be of assistance as districts digest and integrate the new procurement requirements into district policies and procedures.  Click here to access those documents. 

Additional materials and useful information is available in the members area.  The collective efforts associated with this  issue have cost tens of thousands of dollars, but are available to members of the Association at no charge.

The Association will develop and provide a template for UASD members that districts may use as a guide in adopting procurement rules as required by statute.  Rules may be adopted by or before May 14, 2014.  The Association will have a Procurement Rules Template for districts by or before the UASD Convention on November 6, 7, and 8 to be held at the Utah Valley Convention Center.  Training on the procurement statute, along with templates and forms will be available at the convention.
