2012 General Legislative Session

 

The 2012 General Legislative Session is underway.  Periodic updates and daily emails will be generated for members of the Association.  If your district is a member of the Association and you would like to receive email updates, please respond by clicking on the "Contact Us" link providing your district name and email address.  Additional information will be posted on the website at it becomes available.

The Utah Association of Special Districts meets on a weekly basis to address each bill of interest to districts throughout the state.  The content, impact and status of each bill are discussed and an official UASD position is adopted.  

Representatives of districts throughout the State are invited to attend.  Meetings are held each Tuesday during the session at noon.  The Copper Room has been reserved for this purpose and is located at the far south end of the East (Senate) Building, south of the cafeteria.

The Mission of the
 
Utah Association of Special Districts
 
is to:

  • Promote the proper and efficient operation of all Local Districts and Special Service Districts in the State of Utah.
  • Assist Districts in fulfilling their respective Missions in an effective manner.
  • Help government and public officials better understand why Local Districts and Special Service Districts are organized.
  • Promote Local District and Special Service District awareness.
  • Provide training to board members, management and staff.
  • Provide legislative input and advocacy.
  • Provide updates of current laws and regulations.
