What does this year's convention have for you?

The Utah Association of Special Districts (UASD) is the only statewide association that represents all Local Districts and Special Service Districts.  This year's convention will focus on issues of importance to districts providing all types of services, including irrigation, drainage, mosquito, water, solid waste, cemetery, electric, fire protection and EMS, animal control, transit, transportation, parks and recreation, healthcare, sewer, police protection, 911 emergency dispatch, street lighting, and flood control.

Those Who Should Attend include board members, management and staff.  By attending the Wednesday board governance training sessions, board members will fulfill the statutory requirement to receive training on the open meetings law each year.  In addition, board members elected or appointed within the past year (and those who have never received this training) will fulfill the statutory requirement to receive the statutory-required training prepared by the State Auditor's Office in conjunction with the UASD.

The Wednesday training sessions have been structured to provide your district with training opportunities for key employees, as well as board members and management.  Training sessions include tailored sessions to train and certify records officers, fulfilling the recent annual training and certification requirements.

In addition, please join us at the First Annual "Trust Tailgate", sponsored by the ULGT on Wednesday evening.  Come join us for food, friends, and networking!
