Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District is in search of an adaptable and dynamic leader preferably with some public sector experience. Our team provides waste and recycling collections to 86,000 homes within 14 municipalities in Salt Lake County.


This position is appointed by the General Manager/CEO with the Board of Trustee’s consent. This position serves as the General Manager’s designee to provide the direct oversight of the District’s budget and finances, and for keeping the District in compliance with all laws and regulations related to government finance and reporting. Serves as the District Chief Financial Officer, ensures proper internal control mechanisms for cash handling and accounting functions. Performs extensive and complex accounting functions.


This is a key leadership position on the executive management team, which is responsible for strategic planning that aligns with the district’s vision, mission and goals serving our communities. Both strategic and critical thinking abilities are essential along with both emotional and professional maturity to enhance the working culture. 


Salary Range:                     $132,392 - $185,349 annually depending on experience.

 The Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center (SLVECC or Center) is a Public Safety Answering Point providing 9-1-1 police, fire, and medical emergency call taking and dispatch services located in West Valley City, Utah. SLVECC was originally formed through the execution of an Interlocal Agreement under Utah law by six Salt Lake area cities and Salt Lake County in June 1988. Today, the Center serves 11 police and 8 fire agencies supporting the public safety of nearly 900,000 residents in Salt Lake County. 

The Center employs 145 full-time and 17 part-time employees. Of the total employees, 130 full-time and 16 of the part-time staff are dedicated to receiving, triaging and dispatching 911 calls for service and other administrative calls for its members. Other staff members support the administrative, technical, and training activities of the Center. 


The Deputy Director of Administration and Finance oversees administrative and financial operations of the SLVECC. The individual will play a critical role on the senior leadership team in strategic direction and decision-making. The successful candidate will be forward thinking, analytical, and growth oriented as well as a hands-on and participative manager. This position will lead and oversee staff and consultants in the following areas: business planning, finance and accounting, human resources, administration, compliance, facilities, and information technology. 



This position is classified as exempt with a starting salary range of $125,000 - $140,000 DOQ. 

The Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center offers a competitive benefit package to include various health plan options, dental and vision insurance, group life insurance, pension with Utah Retirement Systems, 401(a) and 457B plans, paid holidays, and annual leave. Generally, office hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, working 10 hours per day. Other work arrangements may be negotiated.

Roy Water Conservancy District currently has a job opening for a full-time Finance Clerk position.  

Incumbents in this job provide financial management to the District including the identification, description appraisal, scheduling and classification of financial records series and District financial and human resource records management systems in accordance with State Archives policies; appraise and evaluate financial records for administrative, fiscal, legal, historical and research values; process permanent archival records for research use; and assist District representatives in scanning technology including guidelines for scanning public records, and assessing District scanning technology needs.  Also maintains security of classified and confidential records.  Incumbents in this job must possess a thorough knowledge of pertinent policies and procedures in order to manage the District financial program.  This job requires advanced skill in both utilizing and interfacing computerized finance systems, and in understanding system behavior related to unusual or specific circumstances.  Incumbents in this job present and defend practices, and interpret complex reports and fiscal statements; resolve, reconcile and adjust for special conditions; and participate in developing, modifying, or enhancing appropriate fiscal policies, procedures and practices.  Develops and interprets financial and human resource reports.  Incumbents research financial problem areas and exercise decision making in recording and analyzing financial and human resource data.  May supervise subordinate staff including determining workload and delegating assignments and training.
